Travel Solo

Being a full-time practicing architect for past 8

years, having tight schedules and deadlines is

part of the routine. But taking out time to travel

has always been my favourite hobby. I love to

explore places, be it a city, a village, or any town.

I don’t exactly remember how old I was but since

childhood I have enjoyed travelling and trekking. Back

then, the definition of travelling for me was different

than what it is now. This perspective widened drastically

during my 5-year Architectural studies and since then

travelling for me is not just visiting new places, enjoying

the views and relaxing but also observing, learning

new things, meeting new people, understanding and

appreciating the place through its history (past) ,

geography , people (present), food and its architecture. I

started enjoying and learning through all these and thus

have started liking travelling even more than before.

Earlier, whenever I used to travel, it used to be with a

group of friends or like-minded people and with my

family but later on, it started becoming a bit difficult

to coordinate time, holidays, budget, places and then

make a plan that suits everyone. So, I decided to take a

solo trip and probably my first one was Spiti. There, I

met 9 other solo travellers and it became an extremely

memorable trip. And that’s how I started travelling solo

whenever I could. The freedom and advantages of solo

travelling are so many that I started enjoying it even more.
